ACP Angels Team – Classic American Cheerleading

Learn the basics and go beyond the sport.

cheerleading-jump-photo-083The ACP Angels Cheerleading team is a multi-cultural group of Anglophone girls ages 11 to 16 discovering Americana through movement.

The team meets on Saturday mornings, 10h00 to 11h30 in the ACP Gym. (Time & place subject to change.)

What is a Cheerleader?

An enthusiastic vocal supporter for anyone or anything, using a combination of rhythm, rhyme, playful and powerful movements and words.

What do we do?

A fun warm-up, team building exercises, arm motions, cheers, chants, jumps, pom dance routines and create our own original cheers. During the year we do several "in-house" projects.

What are the benefits?

cheerleading-group-img_1128A chance to use the English language in a unique way, build confidence and coordination, better spatial and body awareness, enhance sequencing skills and Team Spirit!

With classical cheerleading the girls learn to "find their voice" and "stand tall and proud".

Who is the coach?

Shannon Boisson de Chazournes. Having been a majorette in her youth and wanting to promote positive American culture she created the ANGELS team in 2006.

She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in dance performance from Southern Methodist University and formerly danced with the New York City Ballet.
