Culture Groups

strengthening each other in love, faith, grace, and community through our talents and passions

Multicultural Couples Multicultural Couples

One Friday* each month
at 7:00 p.m.

Thurber Room, Second Floor

The ACP Multicultural Couples' Group was launched in 2003 by Pastor Tina Blair. From just a few couples at the first dinner, five years later our attendance can be upwards of fifteen couples. We meet once a month in the Thurber Room  where we enjoy a potluck supper, great fellowship and fascinating cross-cultural discussion.

Discussion topics we have shared include raising bicultural/bilingual children,  cultural differences in holiday traditions and the challenges and joys of our families-in-law.  Some of our special events have included a Thanksgiving potluck feast, an Advent dinner-dance catered by Noura, and a Valentine's Day date night. We  also organize marriage enrichment seminars.

Our group includes members of all ages, from the engaged or newly-married to those with 30+ years of marriage, and of all cultural combinations.  We are not just French-American! Come and join us if you have two or more cultures represented in your relationship!

* Meeting dates for the 2007/2008 year are scheduled as follows:
September 14
October 19
November 16
December 7
January 18

Movie Group

Third Friday of each month
at 7:00 p.m.
Library, Second Floor

The movie group has met every month since February 1995, including summers and holiday seasons. The rest of this paragraph needs to define what the movie group is about and how it's organized and what we do. We should also know a bit more about the kinds of people who come (ages, interests, so forth).

The next meeting is Feb. 21, where the following movies will be discussed:

We need to know what the information in parentheses is for.
Into the Wild (Oscar nominations for editing, supporting actor)
Charlie Wilson's War (supporting actor)
No Country for Old Men (supporting actor, directing, film, screenplay, cinematography...)
Juno (actress, film, director, screenplay)

For more information please contact Rebecca Brite.

Music Program

Our music program includes vocal choirs and bell choirs in addition to occasional use of other instruments. Please visit our Adult Choirs page for more details.
