Sunday Concert Series - 17h00 - Free admission

Originating in Left Bank studios in 1895, The Atelier Concert Series became part of the cultural activities at the American Church in Paris during the early 1930s. These concerts provide a performance opportunity in Paris for talented musicians of all nationalities.

A different program is offered each Sunday evening at 17h00, September through November and January through June. There is no admission fee, but a free-will offering is taken at the door to support the series.

Born in Milan, Italy in 1982, Güray Başol started playing the piano at the age of 15 at the “Istanbul Anatolian Fine Arts High School”. He continued his studies in “Yıldız Technical University”, the Art and Design Faculty, Music Ensemble Department with Ali Darmar and graduated with honors. Immediately after, he enrolled in the “Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris” in the class of Germaine Mounier for the “Diplôme Supérieur d’enseignement”. In this institution, he continued his studies in Chamber Music with Nina Patarcec and Analysis with Jean-Dominique Pasquier. Following this, he continued his music studies in the “National Rueil-Malmaison Conservatory” for three years with Chantal Riou. Meanwhile he focused his studies on Chamber Music with Michel Moragues and graduated with the highest diploma of the conservatory; “Prix d’excellence”. He carried on his piano studies in the “National Aubervilliers - La Courneuve Conservatory” with Jasmina Kulaglich. He won the first prize in “UFAM Chamber Music Contest”, and has performed solo piano recitals in major concert halls in Turkey, France and England.

The "Mirror Visions Ensemble" presents
Sounds of Swedish Poetry

Favorite songs by Rangstrom, Sibelius and Stenhammer, alongside world premieres from Swedish composers Jonas Forssell, Hans Gefors, Kim Hedås, Anders Nilsson, Kjell Perder, Ylva Skog and Andrea Tarrodi. The Americans of Mirror Visions (soprano Vira Slywotzky, tenor Scott Murphree, baritone Mischa Bouvier and pianist Gary Chapman) are joined by Swedish musicians Lena Gutke (flute), Mimi Brundin Sunnerstam (cello) and Bernt Wilhelmsson (piano). The ensemble is led by Tobé Malawista.

Born in Foggia, Marco Grieco obtained his diploma in piano at the "Umberto Giordano" Music Conservatory in Foggia in 2000 with highest honors under the guidance of A. Drago. He continued to study with Professor Pasquale Iannone, attending piano seminars in technique and interpretation M. Mollova, (Sofia, Bulgaria), F.J. Thiollier (Scuola del Trio di Trieste) A. Lonquich (Garganico Rhodes), and M. Matarrese (Bari and Lucera). From 2008 to 2010, he won awards in more than 35 national and international music and piano competitions, including Caramanico Terme "Paolo Barrasso" 2008 (1st absolute prize with 100/100 and winner of international competition), "Prix Ars Nova" 2008 in Teramo (1st absolute prize with 100/100 and winner of international competition), "V.Bellini" 2008 in Gragnano (1st absolute prize competition), Massafra International Music Competition "Valeria Martina" 2007 (1st prize), the Tricase International Music Competition "La Vallonea" (1st prize), the International Music Competition "Rosa Ponselle" (1st Prize), the National Music Competition "Orfeo Stillo" (1st prize and special prize "Orfeo Stillo" as best pianist in the competition), the International Music Competition "Estro Armonico" in Ladispoli (1st Prize), the National Piano Competition in Magliano Sabina (1st Absolute Prize), the National Piano Competition" Citta' di Guardiagrele " (1st Prize), the European Competition "Luigi Denza (1st absolute Prize), the International Music Competition "M. Grazia Vivaldi" in Montalto Ligure (1st Absolute Prize), and the National Music Competition "Terra degli imperiali" (1st Prize).

Mary Dawood - piano

Mary Dawood will present a program of piano, prose and poetry on the occasion of the release of her first cd «Nostalgia». The program includes works by Bach, Beethoven, Rachmaninov, and Satie. In addition, she will perform the world première of a piece entitled «Wind» by Sylvain Guinet who will be in attendance at the concert. Mary studied at the Royal Conservatory of Music of Canada, she earned a Bachelor of Music degree in piano performance from the University of Ottawa, and a Master of Music and Musicology from the Sorbonne in Paris. She has performed in France, Belgium, Canada and the U.S.A, and in 2014 she gave her debut at Carnegie Hall in New York City. Laureate of the American Protégé International Competition of Romantic Music and of CBC Young Artists Competition, her performances have been broadcast on CBC Radio Canada. Mary has just been named a Bösendorfer Artist.
