Your Wedding

expressions of faith and unity in the love of Christ

Prior to your ceremony

Counseling sessions are strongly urged, but when you come from abroad, we recommend that you seek premarital counselling at your home congregation. Counselling over the phone may complement the exchange of emails between you and the pastoral assistant. Plan on meeting with the pastoral assistant at least once prior to the rehearsal and wedding.

Our traditional wedding bulletin will be provided by our wedding coordinator. Some personalization is possible; however, all changes and additions need to be discussed with and approved by the pastoral assistant. Parents and siblings, relatives and friends are welcome to participate in reading selected liturgy. Ministers from other congregations may also co-officiate with our pastoral assistant.

A rehearsal is necessary for a tailored ceremony with special music and special readings. The rehearsal is usually scheduled a day prior to the wedding. Small and simple (non-tailored) weddings do not require a rehearsal.

On your wedding day

The sanctuary is booked for two hours. We open the doors 30 minutes before your ceremony. This time is allotted for set-up (florists) and welcoming of guests. The ceremony is very rich with magnificent organ music, a unity candle, sometimes translation,  and special readings. It may last from 30 to 45 minutes, depending on what has been discussed with the pastoral assistant and the music director. The rest of the time is dedicated to photographs, signing of the wedding certificate and the wedding book and the greeting of the couple after the ceremony.
