Begins Sunday 1 January 2023
100 Nights of Welcome is back for its fifth winter season!
100 Nights of Welcome (aka 100NOW) provides shelters, showers, laundry washes, and dinner to the underhoused in Paris. 90% of those we serve are refugees referred to us by our partner associations, although we won't turn away those who aren't refugees also in need of housing. 90% are men and we started housing women as well, who slept together in a separate part of the gym.
This season will last from 1 January through 15 March.
The best way you can serve is an overnight volunteer - we need two per night, of which at least one is male. The role is to ensure the safety and well-being of our guests during the night.

Our last season faced a challenge.
With fears of the Delta variant and nightly testing for those without the pass sanitaire, we had a hard time recruiting volunteers last year. A lot of the burden then fell on coordinators Lisa and Daniel (and the nightly check-in volunteer, Shahram).
This season, we're taking a different approach: we're preparing the season with a big push to sign up volunteers ahead of schedule. So many people in our community are proud of the homeless shelter, but the shelter itself functions on individual volunteers getting involved.
So, our push is that we want to sign up at least 30 volunteers before the season starts. We want 30 individual volunteers to sign up between 16 Oct and 15 Dec, and if we can line up enough volunteers, we'll have our shelter. If we can't line up 25 volunteers, then the project isn't sustainable, because it takes a community to run a community homeless shelter!

This is a video volunteers made of our first season of 100NOW in 2018-2019.
It's a nice flashback to how it started - and frankly, not much has changed since that first season!
