“For God alone my soul waits in silence; from him comes my salvation” (Psalm 62:1)
The practice of Lectio Divina stems from an ancient monastic prayer tradition which emphasizes scripture as the “Living Word of God”.
It is a contemplative way to read short passages of sacred text and discover meaning deeper than the literal layer. It aims at facilitating a direct encounter with Christ through His word and can lead to a deep resting in God.
Prayer meetings will last for about an hour and after instructions and briefly settling into presence and stillness, we will read the passages four times according to the method of Lectio Divina. Afterwards there will be time for questions and sharing.
The prayer will be led by ACP staff member Jörg Kaldewey.
