Prof. Simon Conway Morris — Eight evolutionary myths: The closing of the Darwinian mind?

Dr. Simon Conway MorrisDr. Simon Conway Morris is a professor of Evolutionary Palaeobiology in the University of Cambridge and a Fellow of St John's College. He has published extensively on the Burgess Shale and the Cambrian "explosion" (summarized in The Crucible of Creation; OUP) and more recently has developed an interest in evolutionary convergence and the limits of evolution (summarized in Life's Solution; CUP). He was won various medals, etc and was elected to the Royal Society in 1990. He is also engaged with the public understanding of science and in 1996 delivered the Royal Institution Christmas Lectures. When undisturbed he can usually be found reading something by G.K. Chesterton or the Inklings, with a glass of wine (or something stronger) immediately to hand.

Dr. Morris's lecture can be heard here.
