Getting to The American Church in Paris – Sunday 26 July 26 

The final stage of the Tour de France will take place in Paris on Sunday 26 July, bringing significant traffic restrictions around central Paris, including the area surrounding The American Church in Paris.

By Public Transportation

Public transportation is the easiest way to reach the church, although several stations closest to the race route will be closed all day.

Good stations to use include:

  • Alma–Marceau (Metro Line 9) – approximately a 5-minute walk. 

  • Invalides (Metro Lines 8 & 13) – approximately an 8–10 minute walk.

  • La Tour-Maubourg (Metro Line 8) – approximately an 8-minute walk.

  • École Militaire (Metro Line 8) – approximately a 10-minute walk.

  • Saint-François-Xavier (Metro Line 13) – approximately a 12-minute walk.

  • Stations to avoid (closed all day):

    • Concorde

    • Champs-Élysées–Clemenceau

    • Franklin D. Roosevelt

    • George V

    • Charles de Gaulle–Étoile

    • Tuileries

    • Madeleine

    • Several additional stations near the race route may also close later in the day.

By Car

If you are coming from the Right Bank (north side of the Seine):

Please do not plan to cross the Seine via Pont Bir-Hakeim, Pont de l'Alma, or Pont des Invalides or travel along the Quai d'Orsay. These roads and nearby bridges will be subject to extensive restrictions throughout the day.

  • Vehicle traffic will be prohibited from approximately 6h until 24h on the Quai d'Orsay and many surrounding streets in the 7th and 8th arrondissements.

  • Heavy congestion and additional police restrictions are expected around the race route from early morning onward.

Instead:
Cross the Seine well away from the race route farther west or east) and approach the church from behind, using neighborhood streets rather than the riverside quays.

Suggested approach:

  • Cross at Pont Mirabeau  if coming from western Paris.

  • Once on the Left Bank, use streets such as Rue de Grenelle, Rue Saint-Dominique, Rue de l'Université, or Boulevard de La Tour-Maubourg to approach 65 Quai d'Orsay from the rear of the church.

  • If using GPS, enter Rue de l'Université or Rue Saint-Dominique as your destination first, then continue to the church.

Please allow extra travel time regardless of your method of transportation.
