Renovating and Rebuilding the Church
We are immensely grateful for the great deal of staff and volunteer time and talent that runs these ministries. But as we all know, operating ACP also requires funding and strong stewardship of these funds. This is the focus of our Generosity Campaign 2021-22, Renovating and Rebuilding the Church.
- Estimated giving in 2022. To lay the foundation for the post-pandemic church, we will focus in the next year on how giving is a blessing – we give through the church, not to the church. Stewardship is part of our recognition of God’s work in our lives and helps us achieve his mission through us. Please let us know here what you plan to give in 2022 here: , so that ACP can budget accordingly. Your Council members are already in the process of submitting their estimated giving commitments.
The amounts of any estimated and actual giving is kept strictly confidential, accessible only to ACP's Senior Pastor and finance/accounting team for processing donations and issuing tax receipts. Contact information is maintained in accordance with the ACP data privacy rules.
ACP is dependent on your continued giving – so if you stop giving then we will be unable to continue operating at our current level.

What is pledging?
Pledging is a commitment to give a specific amount of money to the church throughout the church calendar year. You can indicate on your electronic pledge or manually completed card whether you want to make an annual, quarterly, monthly or weekly contribution.
Why should I pledge?
Two primary reasons: 1. To lay the foundation for the post-pandemic church. We give through the church, not to the church and stewardship is part of our recognition of God’s work in our lives and helps us achieve his mission through us. We are called to use all that God has given us in service to others, and for nearly all of us, this includes some amount of financial giving to the Church so we can accomplish his work. 2. Stewardship challenges each of us to consider how we will share our time, talents, and treasure at ACP. This fall, we are planning the 2022 missions, ministries and activities/needs and estimating the related expenditures. We must forecast church revenues to enable your Council to determine how to dedicate our financial resources in 2022 and having an understanding of the overall amount of pledges enables this planning. With weddings lower than history, this puts increase emphasis on understanding our planned giving.
Why is it important to pledge?
As Christians, we worship God in all areas of our lives, including our finances. When we make a commitment to pledging a specific amount of money, we are serving God through our material resources. Giving is an essential part of the Christian faith; Christians have practiced the discipline of giving for hundreds of years. When you pledge you show your commitment to the future of the church, you are showing your gratitude to God for all the blessings you have received, and you make a difference in other people’s lives through the healing ministries of ACP. Therefore, pledging can be a joyous Christian discipline in our life.
How do I make a pledge?
This year we are hoping that most can make the pledge on-line by using this link: . For those without access to electronic giving, pledge cards are available to be mailed to church members and regular attendees. Pledge cards are also available in the Narthex at ACP. Completed hard copy pledge cards may be mailed back to the church or placed it in the church offering plate. Back to Stewardship FAQ

How much should I give with an annual pledge?
We believe that for those blessed with financial resources, giving is itself an act of ministry - a bold and impactful way to further God’s work through ACP. We believe in the Apostle Paul’s writing that “We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us [including] … the giver, in generosity” (Romans 12: 6-8), and that “Each of you must give as you have made up your mind, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” (2 Corinthians 9:7) The tithe, a ten percent gift of the first fruits, is like training wheels for faithful giving. For most, it is a goal to be reached through incremental increases each year. Faithful stewardship requires planning and practice and can feel like a duty at times, but should always result in joyful, generative blessing to the giver and to those who receive. Some members of our faith family struggle while others have been more blessed financially than enough. Back to Stewardship FAQ
Is my pledge a binding contract?
No. Filling out your pledge card is an estimate of giving made in good faith. It is not like paying taxes, a mortgage or other debt payments. Your pledge is a statement of intent, not a contract. Back to Stewardship FAQ
Can I change my pledge if my financial circumstances change?
Yes. We do understand that circumstances in our lives change. Sometimes people give more than they originally pledged. Other times, they need to reduce or even cancel their pledge for some time. We simply ask you to let us know if your circumstances change. Back to Stewardship FAQ
Should I fill out a pledge card or complete an on-line pledge even if I am giving via virement / automatic bank transfer?
Yes. Your pledge assures church leadership of your commitment to continue giving. A virement, or periodic payment is one of the most seamless methods of giving as your donation goes directly to the ACP bank account with no processing fees or commissions, and we grateful for it – and we highly encourage it. But some people vary their virement periodically and a pledge will enable us to better estimate the full year amount. Back to Stewardship FAQ
What is a steward and how do I become a steward of ACP?
The New Testament Greek word for "steward," oikonomos, is a combination of the word for house (oikos) and law (nomos). In other words, a steward is a house manager, and in the New Testament was used to describe a servant who managed the affairs of a family. In the church we believe that we are all members of the household of God, and each has received gifts from God's infinite love. So we are called to be faithful stewards of the riches of Christ's love, and to bless one another in the church and in the larger community where God has called the church to be a blessing.
Everyone that contributes to God's Kingdom is a steward of the church's missions, ministries, and activities in Paris and throughout the world. If you are interested in participating in delivering the message of stewardship to the members, alumni, and friends of ACP, please consider becoming a member of the Stewardship Committee. We are looking for volunteers who are passionate about supporting our church's mission and ministries with good communication skills, innovative ideas to grow our resources, and enthusiasm.
