"To the End: A Meditation on Exodus 12:1-2 & John 13:1-17"
is a short film created by the ACP Youth and Young Adults for Maundy Thursday.

Notes on the Short Film:

When Toni Morrison commented on the artist’s task in troubled times, she said this: “This is precisely the time when artists go to work. There is no time for despair, no place for self-pity, no need for silence, no room for fear. We speak, we write, we do language. That is how civilizations heal.” As it is with artists, so it is with Prophets like Jeremiah and Ezekiel. As it is with the Incarnation when the word took on flesh and entered the drama of human history. As it is when Jesus begins Holy Week on Palm Sunday and performs political theater. As it is when Jesus dines with his disciples at the table and washes their feet. As it is with our modern day prophets: our children, youth, & young adults. As we come to the end of Holy Week and pause first on Maundy Thursday, we center their collective voices, their interwoven stories, and their theological imagination through the liturgy of art. We pray when they are silent, you might feel the complexity of the good news. When they speak, you might hear a sermon. When they lead, we might all journey into Good Friday and Easter Sunday.
